Week 20 - Free Topic

It was my intention to create this club and see where it takes us...20 weeks later I feel complete and inspired to take more photos from different views. This is our last assignment for now. HOWEVER, do not stop taking photos!!! The world is beautiful and your eye captures all that beauty!

Thank you for participating in my vision.
In LoVE and possibilities,
Mel

Free topic...take a photo of whatever inspires you!!!

Through the eyes of a child. (it’s a dinosaur)
~ Alma Thayer ~

This is a picture of what I woke up to on my ceiling on my birthday a couple of weeks ago. Two very important people stayed up late the night before my birthday to put it up so I could wake up to it. True unconditional LOVE is what prompted them to do it and that is what moves me. Without true unconditional LOVE, what else is there? ~ Cat Cruz

This week comes the end to our summer and with that every year comes the County Fair. My dad drives out from Montana and he take the whole fam to go see the rodeo. This was my favorite shot from it.
Big thanks to Mel and all those who participated in the blog. Keep shooting! ~ Eric Morgensen

For my last photo, I decided to do a self portrait because I missed it when that was a topic. I want to thank everyone for inspiring me to take more photographs! I hope to see more of your photos someday.
Love, Kenna Hummer

This photo was taken in Ecuador in the Jungle.

Week 19 - Something Old

New Topic...

Something Old
Find an old fence, an old car, an old tire...get creative!
(Thanks Eric for this suggestion!)

As we grow older, we must discipline ourselves to continue expanding, broadening, learning, keeping out minds active and open. ~ CLINT EASTWOOD

This is a shot of an old bronze statue, it was shot on film.
~ Natalie Warr ~

Here is a photo of my grandfathers Brownie camera that he carried throughout WWII. It rests on a book that belonged to my Great Uncle from 1879. These are just two of the many old things that belong to my family in history's past. I am so blessed to have some many of them. ~ Eric Morgensen

I celebrated my 29th birthday for the 11th year in a row on Sunday (you do the math, haha). I guess in some sense those in the younger generation would consider me as "something old." As you can see from the picture, I had THE BEST BIRTHDAY EVER! Although I am another year older, my motto has always been "age is just a number" so I choose to continue to live, laugh, eat, pray, and love. Hope everyone had a great week off! It's nice to be back. :) ~ Cat

I love old cars. This was sits by my freeway exit and has flowers in the back of the pick up.

Be ready for when your time comes, you will have that window of opportunity, so seize the moment and capitalise on it. - Anthony Anderson

Here is a photo of one of my favorite people in the Universe. She so happens to be standing near a doorway and a window. Go check her out at http://www.dawnmitschele.com/

Week 17 - Animals

Topic....Animals!!!

"An animal's eyes have the power to speak a great language." ~ Martin Buber

"Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened." ~ Anatole France

I had a visitor at the pier while on my morning walk. I love living so close to the beach! :)
~ Cat Cruz ~

I think I just moved to the bug capital of southern california!! There are always some crazy looking creatures popping in :) This grasshopper was almost 4 inches long!! And stick bugs are just awesome.... I can't wait to see your guyes shots!!! ~Beth Iyaman, love life advocate! ~

I decided to share all the kitties that live with me. The first picture is my cat, Oreo, sleeping in a guitar case. The second picture is a neighborhood cat named Willy. He has adopted me as his new owner. The third picture is another cat that has also adopted my house and I call him "Little Kitty". I absolutely love these little guys!

This is how I spend my mornings and nights sometimes...this is my roommate Stella and she
LOVES her orange ball.
~ Melissa Grove ~

I have taken so many shots of animals that it is hard to choose from. I decided to try and share a photo of something maybe some people have never seen before. This is a type of Nudibranch also known as a Sea Slug. They are not very large, only about an inch or two, and are very slow movers. So they turn out to be one of a divers favorite subjects. Nudibranch’s are typically poisonous to predators that may try to eat them, so their beautiful colors in a way say “don’t eat me, or you’ll be sorry”. ~ Eric Morgensen ~

Week 16 - Transportation

NEW TOPIC inspired by Eric Morgenson!

Transportation - take a photo of a bus, plane, car, bike or pick a part on any of them...whatever you wish.
Extra credit (remember that?) How about extra fun?
Play around with black & white...use texture, color accent, color swap...use your camera setting to create a different look. Thank you Eric!

He didn't riot. He got on his bike and looked for work. - Norman Tebbit

Here is a photo i took of my boy's car when we were about to go surfing. enjoy!
~ Conor Meehan ~

I live in the Northwest and ferry boats are an essential part of our transportation system. They help get us to certain places faster than we otherwise would just by driving. Plus you have a much more relaxed ride than sitting in loads of Seattle traffic. This weekend we went to go pick up my wife and as we took 2 separate ferries just to get where we were going and I was able to capture a perfect shot of one of our ferries with Mount Rainer in the background.

The other photo is of 12 women (one of which is my wife Tristalene) who used only their legs and feet to go 187 miles. The competed in a Ragnar Relay race in which each of them ran around 17-20 miles. From Blaine, WA near Canada to Langley they ran for 33 hours nonstop to finish the race. I am so proud of her accomplishment and it just makes me realized that you can do anything you put your mind to.
~ Eric Morgensen ~

Engine Engine number 9...I love where transportation has gone and is going!
~ Kidest M ~

I know this isn't a picture of a bus, plane, car, or bike, but these are my favorite mode of transportation! :)

I like this view. We were on our way to surprise someone...videographer and all.

Week 15 - Summertime

Summertime!
Show me what summer means to you...beach, hiking, amusement parks, pools....relaxing...whatever summer means to you.

A perfect summer day is when the sun is shining, the breeze is blowing, the birds are singing, and the lawn mower is broken. ~ James Dent

Boats! Boats! We've got Boats!
~ Kidest M. ~

For me, this is exactly what summer means. One of my favorite places to be Ventura, CA.
~ Kenna Hummer ~

Summer to me means fun at the beach with my 10-month-old golden retriever while my boys are away visiting their grandparents for their whole summer vacation :( AND watching the sea lions swimming in the ocean.I hope everyone is enjoying their summer! :)
~ Cat Cruz ~

My first summer in my new house...and this is what is outside my door. Beautiful.

Week 14 - Low Angle

Topic...Low Angle

Take a break! Lay down and look up...capture this perspective and make this view point interesting.

"Keep your feet on the ground and your thoughts at lofty heights." ~ Peace Pilgrim quote

Sometimes the simplest objects make for the best inspiration! My ordinary ceiling fan has turned into something much more beautiful. I very much enjoy taking pictures from this point of view!
~ Kenna Hummer ~

~ Natalie Warr ~

Here are 2 photos for you. One was from a few weeks ago at a show I put on in my hometown. If you notice things like shoes you will figure out who the 2 people are without seeing their faces.
The other was taken a few hours ago just before boarding the plane going back to Seattle from San Diego. It was one last chance for my wife to get her feet wet on the sandy shores.
~ Eric Morgensen ~

I'm in my hometown for a long weekend and this is what I wake up to every morning. Even though my old bedroom has been the "guest room" since I moved out nearly 17 years ago, my Mom and Dad can't bring themselves to take it down. It is such a sweet reminder of my awesome childhood. :)
~ Cat Cruz ~

A few years back I was in New Orleans for my neice's wedding. I got down on my hands and knees to take this photo of the church. It was so beautiful. I now take photos from this angle a lot.
