It was my intention to create this club and see where it takes us...20 weeks later I feel complete and inspired to take more photos from different views. This is our last assignment for now. HOWEVER, do not stop taking photos!!! The world is beautiful and your eye captures all that beauty!

This is a picture of what I woke up to on my ceiling on my birthday a couple of weeks ago. Two very important people stayed up late the night before my birthday to put it up so I could wake up to it. True unconditional LOVE is what prompted them to do it and that is what moves me. Without true unconditional LOVE, what else is there? ~ Cat Cruz

This week comes the end to our summer and with that every year comes the County Fair. My dad drives out from Montana and he take the whole fam to go see the rodeo. This was my favorite shot from it.

Here is a photo of my grandfathers Brownie camera that he carried throughout WWII. It rests on a book that belonged to my Great Uncle from 1879. These are just two of the many old things that belong to my family in history's past. I am so blessed to have some many of them. ~ Eric Morgensen

I celebrated my 29th birthday for the 11th year in a row on Sunday (you do the math, haha). I guess in some sense those in the younger generation would consider me as "something old." As you can see from the picture, I had THE BEST BIRTHDAY EVER! Although I am another year older, my motto has always been "age is just a number" so I choose to continue to live, laugh, eat, pray, and love. Hope everyone had a great week off! It's nice to be back. :) ~ Cat

I decided to share all the kitties that live with me. The first picture is my cat, Oreo, sleeping in a guitar case. The second picture is a neighborhood cat named Willy. He has adopted me as his new owner. The third picture is another cat that has also adopted my house and I call him "Little Kitty". I absolutely love these little guys!

I have taken so many shots of animals that it is hard to choose from. I decided to try and share a photo of something maybe some people have never seen before. This is a type of Nudibranch also known as a Sea Slug. They are not very large, only about an inch or two, and are very slow movers. So they turn out to be one of a divers favorite subjects. Nudibranch’s are typically poisonous to predators that may try to eat them, so their beautiful colors in a way say “don’t eat me, or you’ll be sorry”. ~ Eric Morgensen ~

I live in the Northwest and ferry boats are an essential part of our transportation system. They help get us to certain places faster than we otherwise would just by driving. Plus you have a much more relaxed ride than sitting in loads of Seattle traffic. This weekend we went to go pick up my wife and as we took 2 separate ferries just to get where we were going and I was able to capture a perfect shot of one of our ferries with Mount Rainer in the background.

The other photo is of 12 women (one of which is my wife Tristalene) who used only their legs and feet to go 187 miles. The competed in a Ragnar Relay race in which each of them ran around 17-20 miles. From Blaine, WA near Canada to Langley they ran for 33 hours nonstop to finish the race. I am so proud of her accomplishment and it just makes me realized that you can do anything you put your mind to.

Summer to me means fun at the beach with my 10-month-old golden retriever while my boys are away visiting their grandparents for their whole summer vacation :( AND watching the sea lions swimming in the ocean.I hope everyone is enjoying their summer! :)

Here are 2 photos for you. One was from a few weeks ago at a show I put on in my hometown. If you notice things like shoes you will figure out who the 2 people are without seeing their faces.

The other was taken a few hours ago just before boarding the plane going back to Seattle from San Diego. It was one last chance for my wife to get her feet wet on the sandy shores.

I'm in my hometown for a long weekend and this is what I wake up to every morning. Even though my old bedroom has been the "guest room" since I moved out nearly 17 years ago, my Mom and Dad can't bring themselves to take it down. It is such a sweet reminder of my awesome childhood. :)

A few years back I was in New Orleans for my neice's wedding. I got down on my hands and knees to take this photo of the church. It was so beautiful. I now take photos from this angle a lot.

Week 13 - Trees

I waited weeks for this tree to "peak" last fall, it was the brightest red in our yard. It was hard to pick a shot for this week, I have so many of our trees. Marshville, NC ~ Brian Jones ~

I received this money tree as a gift for my birthday nearly 4 years ago. I normally am not so good at keeping plants alive but he arrived on my door step in the smaller pot to his right nearly 4 years ago and I've had to transfer him to bigger pots twice since. In fact I just transferred him to his bigger green pot last month. I think I've finally found my green thumb. I will always be super grateful to my dear friend for giving me this "love fern" and for allowing me to learn something new about me. :) ~ Cat Cruz ~

About a month ago I was able to visit Italy. Specifically I went to visit many of the sites in which my grandfather fought at during WWII. He was in a unit that is well known among the armed forces. These men were the beginnings of what is now called “Special Forces”. They were called the “First Special Service Force” and named “The Black Devils” by their German enemies. While there we went to visit the American cemetery which held 7800 men whom had gave the ultimate sacrifice from Sicily to Rome. The graves of these brave men were surrounded by these beautiful “Umbrella Pine Trees”.

The cross at the front of this photo is the grave of Eugene S. Bivins from California. He was a member of my grandfathers unit in the FSSF and lost his life on the push out from Anzio on their way to Rome. Rome was liberated a few days later on June 4th, 1944. The gratitude of many of the Italian people we met on our journey was overwhelming. Our Italian tour guide summed it up quite well saying something like this… “I don’t take you to these places to show you how glorious war is, I show you so that you can understand the sacrifice that was paid for our freedom. War is a horrible thing and I hope that one day we will no longer have it in our world.”
